Multitasking

I don't know how not to multi task. I watch my kids all day, so automatically if I do anything else while I am watching my kids, I am multitasking. Could you imaging running a daycare, laundromat, housekeeping service, and meal making service all in one?
I don't remember why or when but somehow not too long ago I found myself at home with out any kids. I didn't know what to do. I couldn't do laundry, cook, or clean. I tried.

I sat down and read.

Tropical storm week

This past week has been crazy. Danika started Kindergarten. During the first week of school we already had two days canceled due to tropical storm Fay. We were on the outskirts of Fay the entire time the storm was in our area. Some areas around us got around 2 feet of rain though. Yes, I said 2 feet not inches! So, hmm, Danika school, Tropical storm, oh yes...The very same week as all of that Harley started his new position. He is now working for ticketing and he has an office in Celebration. Celebration is a town that Disney owns. It has houses and shopping and office buildings. I think it even has a hospital. So far Harley likes his job there. Just like his last position this one has high visibility and it is likely that he will be able to advance quickly.
This week started with me getting Danika off to school and Ruben throwing up promptly after she left. So I had a busy day. I think that puts everyone about up to speed with us.
Here is a picture of Ruben on a healthier day. They are my Wall-e boys.
Here is Danika learning how to do a handstand. She is pretty proud of herself.

1st day of school

This is how I found Danika sleeping the morning of her first day of school. She is still totally asleep and notice her foot is sticking up.

She looks so peaceful. Just after this picture I woke her up and she said, "Mom, you are up too early." Then she popped out of bed and got ready.

This is her bus, the starfish bus. She is so excited to ride it on her own. I can not believe that I am letting her do this.

Look in the window under the word starfish and you can see the last glimpse that I had of my little Danika. She looks a little worried.

Well I did it. I sent my little one off to school and I didn't even cry. I hope she doesn't either. I know she is going to love going to school and making new friends.

I have a child going to school?

I just got back from shopping for school supplies for the first time as a mother. It was crazy and the list of items the teacher wanted was just crazy too. I don't remember my mom sending me to school with a box of Kleenex tissues, 2 containers of soap, Zip lock baggies, an extra set of clothes, and then the regular school items. What ever happened to pencils and paper shoved into a backpack? I don't know what Danika will be doing this year, but I do know she will be set to blow her nose, wash her hands and Zip lock up to 20 items.
Danika will start kindergarten on Monday. She is so excited. She is really excited that she gets to ride the bus all by herself. Sometimes I just think, "What am I doing, sending her on a bus?" We only have one car and that is just the way it has to be right now.
Thank you everyone who called and sent me letters for my birthday, they are much appreciated. I am now 27 years old and a 0 time Olympic champion. We went out and had a good time together as a family and then came home and watched Micheal Phellps win his 8th gold medal for these Olympics. Harley and I have been watching him almost every night and we think he is amazing. It was a nice family day. I love those simple family days where everything just feels right.

Funny Ruben

Ruben loves to talk and he picks up on a lot of the things that Harley and I say. It is cute to hear him use those words along with his three year old vocabulary. Last night we were having shrimp for dinner and I was making chit chat with Harley and I said,"So shrimp have exoskeletons." Immediately after I said that Ruben started telling us a story, "The exoskeleton was dancing in the closet..." It was so cute and funny.
I have one more story. I took the kids to Magic Kingdom on Tuesday. When we walked by Splash Mountain Ruben looked over the bridge down to where you can see the people that just went down the big drop and he said, "The people are riding Lincoln Logs." I love Ruben's perspective on life. Just like all of us he can only relate the things in his life to what he has learned so far.

Abductor Pollicis Longus

I cut my thumb yesterday. I realized that I use it for a lot of things. It is great when you need to wipe up a little kid. It is useful when writing. It is pretty neat when you want to eat with utensils. Useful when picking up items around the house, including buy not limited to children's toys and children themselves. Changing the clothe diaper of a wiggly toddler is almost impossible without two thumbs. Doing dishes without the use of a thumb is pretty hard too. Actually it was during this seemingly simple act when the thumb cutting occurred. I was washing the last three utensils, our pretty-new and, now I know, very sharp kitchen aid knives. Being a busy Mom, while I was washing said utensils, I was thinking about what I was going to clean next and that was a mistake. Note to self: When cleaning knives let that be the only thing on your mind. Now that my thumb is inoperable I will not be cleaning anything for a while. It really stinks.

A vacation away from Disney World

When you live next door to the "happiest place on earth" where do you go for a vacation? To see family of course.
Here are a few pictures of my trip to California. We had our very first Rodney and Mary Ann Klingler family reunion. We had so much fun. We missed Bob, Jason, and Harley, but we are definitely going to do this again. Hopefully we will have EVERYONE there next time. As you can see we have a big crowd. Is that an understatement? We did a pretty good job at getting as many people as we could there.

A few of us were able to go to the Sacramento Temple together. It was very special. Good times.

When I was in California I tried on my wedding dress and drum role please...I fit into it. Woooo Hoooo! After three kids I never thought I would be able to do that again.

And here is the proof that I got into my dress after I had three kiddos.
No photoshop and No trick photography.

Hey this blogging thing is kind of addicting, so you will be hearing from me soon.

Here I go

Thanks to Rene I have finally opened a blog account. I figure it will be an easy way for people to check up on us and for us to see what the rest of the family is up to.

The Kacy and Harley Wentzel family is now in Florida. Harley is working for the mouse here. He really enjoys it. One of the great things about it is there are so many opportunities for advancement and for different kinds of jobs. Oh, and we get to go to the parks as often as our legs can handle it. I actually took all three kids to Magic Kingdom yesterday. We were there for about 5 hours. We had a ton of fun, but I can't take all three on my own very often. The hardest part of the day was when we were taking the bus to where our car was parked Ruben fell asleep. He is very hard to wake up. So needless to say it was interesting seeing me try to get off the bus with a baby, a sleeping toddler, a stroller, and Danika tagging behind. Luckily as soon as people saw that I was traveling alone they grabbed the stroller and Edmond to help me out. That's what I love about Disney people.

We like being here, but we miss our family so we hope to get to California as often as we can. If we can not get there and you want to see us you are always welcome here. Did that make you laugh?

I guess that is all for now.
